NSCAA & Stysa
Hey Neil,
From someone who has taken courses from both organizations I can honestly tell you that it would be a dis-service for STYSA to not accept the NSCAA courses since they are of equal caliber to those of the STYSA sanctioned courses. If taken into context of what STYSA is intending to achieve, the desire is to have qualified coaches who have a desire for the game but also an understanding of the concepts necessary to teach our youth proper techniques and skills. The instruction I've received from NSCAA has vastly improved my abilities as a trainer, but has also enticed me to desire much more. Being challenged and expected to excel is what we, as participants, receive when attending NSCAA courses and for those serious about taking their learning to the next step, the NSCAA provides sufficient leadership in this area.
I will not discredit the experience I received from the STYSA sanctioned course since they too provided great instruction and were well taught but for the organization we all look to provide guidelines and direction in this sport to decline a license from a Nationally recognized organization would be very disappointing.
Either way, if STYSA decides not to honor the achievements I've made this past year, the NSCAA Regional Advance license is one of the greatest achievements I've made thus far and I look forward to continuing on to the National course in the very near future.
Thanks for your time and dedication and feel free to use any of this in support of your cause.
Kindest regards
